Who Are We    

S.T.R.P. Mission Statement

 

To provide individualized therapeutic horseback riding for people with special needs by promoting safety and enjoyment.

 

          S.T.R.P.  PROGRAM OBJECTIVES                 

 

The primary objectives of the Sudbury Therapeutic Riding Program (S.T.R.P.) are:

  • To foster the growth and development of therapeutic riding for individuals four years of age and older with various special needs throughout the Greater City of Sudbury;

 

  • To establish and maintain standards of excellence in therapeutic horseback riding in collaboration with our medical partners in care and in accordance with the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA);

 

  • To promote ongoing professional development opportunities for instructors and volunteers through seminars, clinics and conferences;

 

  • To support research and development in all aspects of therapeutic riding;

 

  • To promote the development and sustainability of community partnerships.
